Karol G Shines With Tropical NFL Halftime Show in São Paulo: “Hey, Brazil!”

Global superstar Karol G lit up São Paulo on Friday night (Sept. 5) as she headlined the NFL season opener halftime show during the matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers.

Performing at Neo Química Arena (Corinthians Arena), the Colombian singer brought her signature Tropicoqueta flair to the NFL stage, thrilling fans both in the stadium and those watching worldwide on the NFL’s YouTube livestream.

A Colorful, High-Energy Performance

Karol opened her dazzling set by singing a few verses in Portuguese before switching into Spanish with her hit “Bandida Entrenada.”

Hey, Brazil! ¡Arriba mi gente latina!” she shouted to the roaring crowd, celebrating the country’s passionate fan base.

Dressed in a brown and yellow miniskirt with metallic details and a pineapple-inspired top, the singer delivered a medley that included:

  • “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” (her Billboard Latin No. 1 smash)

  • “Un Gatito Me Llamó”

  • “Papasito” – performed half in English, half in Spanish

With dozens of dancers, female percussionists, tropical choreography (including a touch of lambada), and a finale filled with golden pom-poms and fireworks, her show lasted under 10 minutes but left a lasting impact.

Karol’s Message to Fans

Before the show, Karol shared her excitement on Instagram with colorful snapshots from Brazil:

“Today is a very special day! After a long time, I return to one of my favorite places in the world, where I always feel completely happy: the stage. Performing tonight has many special meanings in my life… This show has all my soul and heart, and a wonderful team by my side who worked so hard.”

NFL x YouTube Collaboration

Karol G’s performance was part of the NFL’s first-ever exclusive YouTube livestream game, marking a historic moment in the league’s broadcasting evolution.

Brazilian singer Ana Castela performed the Brazilian national anthem (“Hino Nacional Brasileiro”), while acclaimed jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington delivered a stirring rendition of the U.S. anthem (“The Star-Spangled Banner”).

A Night to Remember

Between Patrick Mahomes vs. Justin Herbert on the field and Karol G’s tropical halftime spectacle, São Paulo’s season opener wasn’t just about football—it was about culture, music, and the NFL’s global stage.
